Church bells ringing - one dead junkie. Angels singing - nice and spunky.
The sitting duck under the floor is a prisoner of law.
Said he was a sinner but he doesn’t do it any more.

Everyone knows that’s the way that it goes
But my God they’re amazing the stories you tell.
You’re procrastinating. The whole world is waiting
For good years, the best years - the stories you tell.

I called him Paddy, a bundle of joy. Like his daddy, no employee.
He’s on the dark side of the hall, hiding in the wall.
Paddy Aristotle in a bottle at my beck and call.

Yes I agree that what must be must be
But my friend you astound me, the stories you tell.
Well anticipated, well said, well narrated.
You good guys, you tough guys - the stories you tell.

You’re procrastinating. The whole world is waiting
For good times, the best times - the stories you tell.
